Andrew Gudgeon

Born in Ripon, I have lived and worked in North Yorkshire all my life. Before retiring in 2020, I spent 43 years in a finance role within a major UK business, part of a global FTSE 100 company, and was a long-standing member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management. I also serve as a trustee of another local charity supporting residents and community initiatives.

Having always been surrounded by the dry stone walls that define the Yorkshire landscape, I was introduced to the craft after retiring by a friend and fellow Guild trustee. I have since worked on several walling projects and completed the Guild’s two-day training course, which I highly recommend. I have also attended several shows on behalf of the Guild.

As Treasurer, I oversee all financial matters for the Guild. My responsibilities include ensuring liabilities are met as they fall due, maintaining an appropriate surplus for future activities and equipment, and preparing monthly management accounts. Annual accounts are made available to members, and key financial information is filed with the Charity Commission.

Outside of my trustee work, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, reading, travelling, and both playing and watching football.
