Membership

Coronavirus update

Due to the Guild events this year being decimated by the Covid 19 pandemic the committee have taken the decision to extend memberships as follows:

  • If you have already paid for your 2020-21 membership, this will be automatically extended to March 2022
  • If you have not already paid for your 2020-21 membership, but do so before the next renewal, this will be automatically extended to March 2022

The close working nature of what we do does make it difficult to hold events. We are constantly monitoring the situation so please keep an eye on the website and Facebook page for updates or you can always contact us

Please keep safe and well and we hope to meet up soon

Sarah Pridmore - Guild Secretary

Whilst we are based and operate primarily in North Yorkshire, membership is open to new members from anywhere in the world and we are always delighted to welcome new members with an interest in this traditional craft

Our membership rates are as follows:

Membership typeFee
Life member£100
Adult membership (new/existing)£10 per year
Junior membership (new/existing)£5 per year

You can join the Guild online, using your debit or credit card. This applies to both new memberships and membership renewals.

Alternatively, you can download a membership form (see below) and post it to the Guild Secretary, with a cheque made payable to "The Yorkshire Dry Stone Walling Guild". The address is available on the contact us page

Taster Sessions

If you are new to dry stone walling, the Guild run hands-on taster sessions at our practice meets which are open to non-members (dates are listed on our events page). These one day sessions - working alongside Guild members and instructors - give you the chance to try out dry stone walling and to chat to fellow wallers about the craft, under the guidance of an experienced companion assigned to you for the day.

These taster sessions cost just £10 (non-refundable) and on successful completion of the session, this fee automatically converts to a one year membership to the Guild. To book your place, first see what dates we have available, then click here to book your place with your debit or credit card
