Yorkshire Dry Stone Walling Guild achieves charitable status

After many months of hard work we finally converted to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation on 8th March 2023. This achievement secures the status and future of the Guild for the future.

We have been aiming to establish the Guild as a charitable body for some time, and I and the other Trustees are really happy we now achieved this.  Charitable status is the proper fit for the Guild and will allow us to avoid confusion from our members and course participants about how the Guild operates.

The evolution of the Guild to become a charity doesn’t mean that our services and approach will change much at all. We have been acting as though we were already a charity for some time anyway. The changes that do need to made are mainly in the background.
