An interesting task for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, ace wallers Richard Laidler and Dave Purvis worked with members of the Ragged Robin Conservation Group to create a new structure over the stream on this public right of way. Note we were forced to use "sticky stuff" on the structural work to withstand the force of the stream in spate, dry stone walling techniques were useful in deciding the actual construction.
Diverting the stream and pumping out the site for the abutments
Abutments complete (notice the way marker fingerpost - temporary diversion sign!)
The Three Wise Men of the East? (YDNPA Rangers in conference)
Pier completed...
... and the deck slabs winched in place
But will it stand the weight of 6 grown men? Of course!!!
