The countryside is dotted with numerous prehistoric dry stone structures, two of the most spectacular being:

The "Talayot", constructed in a similar way to the "Navetas", although their purpose is very different, thought to be watch towers or defensive towers. This one is located in Trepuco, on the outskirts of the capital, Mahon.
